No-yeast bagels
The Corona pandemic has imposed a new situation on all of us. The severe shortage in flour and in yeast has forced me to go back to old recipes I had that included either little or no yeast at all.
These bagels is one example. They come out of the oven crunchy and smell so good.
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 flat tsp. Baking powder
1 c. yogurt
½ tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. sugar.
toppings: sesame seeds / zaatar / poppy seeds
Mix the ingredients.
Divide the dough into 4 or more for mini bagels.
Roll each piece into a long rope and form a round bagel.
Dip in water and then dip in any topping you like: sesame seeds, zaatar, poppy seeds, everything but bagel seasoning.
Bake (380°) for 30 minutes.
